Kurz-Biografie

Katharina König ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Deutsches, Europäisches und Internationales Recht bei Frau Prof. Dr. Anuscheh Farahat, LL.M (Berkeley). Sie studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg mit einem Schwerpunkt im Völkerrecht sowie an der Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgien, mit Fokus auf dem Europarecht. Von 2017-2019 war sie studentische Hilfskraft in der Emmy-Noether Forschungsgruppe „Transnationale Solidaritätskonflikte“ am Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches öffentliches Recht und Völkerrecht in Heidelberg.

Katharina König promoviert auf dem Gebiet der Verfassungsvergleichung zu urbanen Ausgrenzungs- und Segregationsprozessen. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Eigentumsgrundrechten und sozialen Grundrechten. Das Promotionsvorhaben wird durch die Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes sowie durch das Marianne-Plehn-Programm (Elitenetzwerk Bayern) gefördert und gewann 2022 den Fakultätsfrauenpreis.

Short Bio

Katharina König is a research assistant at the Institute for German, European and International Law with Prof. Dr. Anuscheh Farahat, LL.M (Berkeley). She studied law at Heidelberg University with a focus on international law and at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) with a focus on European law. From 2017-2019, she was a student assistant in the research group „Transnational Solidarity Conflicts“ at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg.

Katharina König is doing her PhD in the field of comparative constitutional law on urban exclusion and segregation processes. Her research focus lies on property rights and social rights. The PhD project is funded by the German National Academic Foundation and the Marianne Plehn Program (Elitenetzwerk Bayern) and won the 2022 Women’s Faculty Award.
