Kurz-Biografie

Eklavya studierte Politikwissenschaft und später Jura an der Universität von Delhi. Danach las er mit einem Teilstipendium für sein LLM am Law Center der Georgetown University in Washington DC, USA. Sein LLM konzentrierte sich auf internationales Umwelt- und Gesundheitsrecht. Eklavya verfügt insgesamt über 7 Jahre Berufserfahrung in Indien und den USA. In den USA war Eklavya als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am O’Neill Institute for Global Health Law tätig und war Rechtsreferendar bei der American Bar Association. In Indien arbeitete Eklavya für Lawyers Collective zu Fragen der sexuellen Belästigung am Arbeitsplatz und häuslicher Gewalt. Danach war er bei Richter S. Muralidhar am Obersten Gerichtshof von Delhi tätig, wo er sich mit Strafrecht und Todesstrafe befasste. Eklavya hat auch als Anwalt in den Kammern des ehemaligen Generalstaatsanwalts von Indien, Gopal Subramanium, gearbeitet. Sein letztes berufliches Engagement vor seinem Eintritt in die FAU war beim Indian Institute for Human Settlements, wo er als Senior Associate Legal an Fragen des Stadtrechts arbeitete. Eklavya ist Mitbegründer der Neev-Stiftung, einer öffentlichen wohltätigen Stiftung, die den weniger Privilegierten im Gebiet Delhi-NCR in Indien kostenlose Rechtshilfe bietet. Mit einem Stipendium der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung schließt er sich nun dem Team von Prof. Anuscheh Farahat an der FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg für seine Doktorarbeit in Rechtswissenschaften an.

Short Bio

Eklavya studied political science and later law from the University of Delhi. He then read for his LLM at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC, USA on a part scholarship. His LLM was focused on International Environment and Health Law. Eklavya has over 7 years of work experience combined over India and the USA. In the US, Eklavya worked as a Graduate research associate at the O’Neill Institute for Global Health Law and was a law clerk at the American Bar Association. In India, Eklavya worked for Lawyers Collective on issues of sexual harassment at the workplace and domestic violence. He then clerked with Justice S. Muralidhar at the High Court of Delhi where his work comprised of working on criminal law and the death penalty. Eklavya has also worked as counsel in the chambers of former Solicitor General of India, Gopal Subramanium. His last professional engagement before joining FAU was with the Indian Institute for Human Settlements where he worked as a senior associate-legal on issues of Urban Law. Eklavya is the co-founder of Neev foundation, a public charitable trust which provides free legal aid to the less privileged in the Delhi-NCR area in India. He now joins the team under Prof. Anuscheh Farahat at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg for his doctorate in law through a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
