Anuscheh Farahat wird Max-Planck-Fellow am MPI für Sozialanthropologie in Halle
Anuscheh Farahat ist von der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zum Fellow am MPI für Sozialanthropologie in Halle berufen worden. Ihr Forschungsprojekt trägt den Titel „JUST MIGRATION: labour migration regimes in transnationalised contexts“ und läuft zunächst über fünf Jahre. Es untersucht aus vergleichender Perspektive, wie Arbeitsmigration durch Recht gestaltet und gesteuert werden kann. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt dabei auf der Rolle der Menschenrechte in Arbeitsmigrationsregimen. Das Projekt geht von der Prämisse aus, dass Recht Arbeitsmigration nicht linear steuert, sondern mit anderen Infrastrukturen (Wirtschaft, Technologie, Kultur) interagiert. Dementsprechend verbindet das Projekt rechtswissenschaftliche und anthropologische Methoden, um die komplexen Dynamiken von Arbeitsmigration besser zu verstehen.

Anuscheh Farahat has been appointed a Max Planck Fellow at the MPI for Social Anthropology in Halle
Her research project on “JUST MIGRATION: labour migration regimes in transnationalised contexts” will initially run for five years and will analyse from a comparative perspective how labor migration can be shaped and controlled by law. It is in particular interested in examining the role of human rights in labor migration regimes. The project is based on the premise that law does not simply control and direct labor migration flows, but rather interacts with other infrastructures (economy, technology, culture). Together these infrastructures produce complex labour migration regimes. The way how the law operates and interacts in these regimes and the repercussions of this interaction for the function of the law itself are not yet fully understood. “Labour Migration Regimes” combines legal and anthropological methods to better understand the complex dynamics of labor migration and the role of law therein.
